Printing a receipt at a pay station is optional, but there is no need to display a paper receipt. Simply pay for the space and enjoy the City’s restaurants, shops, and other attractions.
Parking meters in high-demand areas are $2.00 per hour. All other areas are $1.50 per hour.
Parking meter enforcement hours are Monday-Saturday, 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Sign violations are enforced until 10pm each evening. This is different than Parking meter hours which are enforced Monday-Saturday, 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.

A legal resident of the State of Missouri and Veteran of Service in the Armed Forces of the United States who has been awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor, the Purple Heart, the Silver Star or is a former Prisoner of War may apply for special vehicle license plates through the Missouri Department of Revenue. Recipients of the Bronze Star may apply for a removable windshield placard.
Veterans correctly displaying one of these special vehicle license plates or placards may park free of charge at regular metered parking spots throughout the City of St. Louis, as determined by Section 304.725 of the Revised Statutes of the State of Missouri [www.moga.mo.gov]. This privilege shall not exempt a vehicle displaying one of these special plates or placards from all other State of Missouri or City of St. Louis parking regulations including, but not limited to, maximum time period allowances, no parking dates, handicapped only parking, street cleaning, snow emergencies and any restrictions posted on meters or street signage.
Motorcycles and scooters can park at parking meters if that space is paid.
Parking meters promote “green” and sustainable initiatives. Properly set, hourly rates increase turnover and availability, making businesses served my meters more attractive to customers and reducing congestion and emissions created by drivers looking for parking spaces. ParkLouie’s solution goes further, utilizing solar-powered equipment to reduce the need to recycle thousands of batteries per year. The meters will communicate wirelessly with the back-office, telling staff when a meter is broken or in need of collection. Fewer trips will be needed to check on meters, further reducing congestion and pollution.
No personal information is stored at the meter. All data is encrypted and wirelessly transferred to the credit card clearinghouses pursuant to Pay Card Industry (PCI) standards.
The availability and convenience of public parking has a significant impact on the livability of our city and our ability to attract visitors, grow business and host major events. When hourly parking meter rates are properly set, parking meters create turnover and availability, making locations served by meters more popular.
You may contest a parking ticket within 30 days of issuance. Tickets more than 30 days past issuance are not eligible for the administrative review process.
